Facilitator Applications Available Now!

Faculty, staff, undergraduate, and graduate students are invited to apply to be a SEM 100 facilitator. Facilitators help guide new students through conversations surrounding building a strong campus community. Detailed job descriptions are below.

Faculty and Staff

As Lead Facilitators, faculty and staff will work in conjunction with a current undergraduate peer facilitator to guide discussions within a section of SEM 100, hosting up to 25 students during the fall 2020 semester. Discussions are anchored around increasing the sense of belonging on the Syracuse University campus. Facilitators are provided with a curriculum guide, training and ongoing support throughout the duration of SEM 100.  

Requirements:

Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Peer Facilitators will work in conjunction with a Lead Facilitator to guide discussions within a section of SEM 100, hosting up to 25 students during the fall 2020 semester. Discussions are anchored around increasing the sense of belonging on the Syracuse University campus. Facilitators are provided with a curriculum guide, training and ongoing support throughout the duration of SEM 100.  

Requirements:

  • Preferred junior, senior or graduate student standing in fall 2020.
  • Completed application due Monday, March 2, 2020. Application is available on Handshake. Handshake is Syracuse University’s career management platform. Students may access Handshake using their NetID and password to find jobs, internships, career development events and to connect with employers.
  • Completed recommendation form (due March 11) and interview (March 9)
