The Office of Supportive Services administers two comprehensive academic support programs: the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) and Student Support Services (SSS). Eligibility requirements for these programs include academic and economic criteria. Services provided include academic advising, personal and career counseling, tutorials, study groups, and financial aid advocacy. These services are primarily available to students enrolled in these programs.
The Tutoring and Study Center (TSC) provides tutoring, workshops and academic assistance. It collaborates with the deans and faculty of SU's schools and colleges to find the best graduate and undergraduate tutors and trains them to work with individual students in small groups. TSC also hosts workshops on study-smart topics, such as time management, test-taking, and other academic success strategies.
The Syracuse University Writing Center is for all students interested in working on their writing regardless of major or field of study. The Writing Center will help you with your writing, whether you're having a hard time getting started or putting the finishing touches on a final draft. The Writing Center is staffed by Writing Program instructors and by peer writing consultants – undergraduates trained to work with other students on their writing.
