Meal Plans begin with lunch on Wednesday, August 20 and end on the last day of each semester's exam period. Your meal plan confirmation should appear with your housing assignment.
An SU I.D. Card is required for access to any of the dining centers. It is a violation of the Student Code of Conduct to use another student's SU I.D. for access to the dining centers and/or meals.
The deadline to lower your fall semester meal plans is Friday, September 5th.
Information on spring meal plans is e-mailed to students in mid-November.
All North Campus residents and first-year students living in the Skyhalls at South Campus are required to be on a University meal plan as outlined in the Terms and Conditions of Student Housing (http://housingmealplans.syr.edu/pdf/terms_and_cond.pdf). You may purchase or change a meal plan online. Use your NetID to log on to http://myslice.syr.edu and select "Dining Plans & Points."
SUpercard FOOD is a declining balance cash account that can be used for the a la carte purchase of food and beverages in all Food Services locations and University vending machines. The account is accessed through your SU I.D. card. The ease and convenience of a FOOD account has made it a very popular Food Services feature. The FOOD account should not be confused with the PLUS account, described below.
All University meal plans come with a FOOD account. You may purchase FOOD funds online 24/7, anytime during the academic year. Use your NetID to log on to http://myslice.syr.edu and select "Purchase SUpercard FOOD/PLUS." Be sure to specify FOOD when processing your request.
Unused balances on your FOOD account carry over from fall to spring semester. There are no transfers or carryovers of unused balances in FOOD accounts after June 30. Food and beverage purchases are exempt from New York State sales tax.
Dining centers will not be open and cash operations will be open on a limited basis during Thanksgiving break, semester break, and spring break.
The PLUS declining balance cash account provides access to goods and services (other than food) through your University I.D. card. The PLUS account can be used in campus washers and dryers, to buy tickets at the Schine Box Office and Carrier Dome Box Office, and at the Schine Copy Center. The PLUS account should not be confused with the SUpercard FOOD account, described above.
A minimum purchase of $25 is required to open a PLUS account. You may replenish PLUS funds online 24/7. Use your NetID to log on to http://myslice.syr.edu and select "Purchase SUpercard FOOD/PLUS." Be sure to specify PLUS when processing your request.
All undergraduate residents of North Campus and first-year students living in the South Campus Skyhalls are required to enroll in a University meal plan. Meal plans are optional for South Campus apartment residents.

Students enrolled in meal plans are welcome to dine at any of the five residential dining centers on campus. Meals in these facilities are served cafeteria-style, with unlimited seconds. Choose from a variety of items from the salad bar, deli, grill, and specialty bars, which feature frozen yogurts, desserts, fresh fruit, and a wide selection of beverages. In addition, special dinners, floor dinners, study breaks, and other themed events take place in the residential dining centers throughout the academic year.
SU Food Services operates Schine Dining in the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center and Goldstein Dining in the Ann and Alfred Goldstein Student Center. Both offer a wide selection of name-brand foods and beverages, as well as deli items, grill specialties, salads, and desserts. Students have the option of taking their selections to-go or enjoying their meals in the comfort of the spacious dining room. Cash and SUpercard FOOD are accepted.
These convenient on-campus grocery stores and snack areas have something for everyone. They feature a full line of wholesome foods, including fresh produce, dairy and bakery products, frozen foods, and snack foods. Located in the Menschel Media Center, FoodWorks accepts cash, SUpercard FOOD, and VISA or MasterCard. To expand the services provided by FoodWorks, SU Food Services opened FWII in DellPlain Hall. Like FoodWorks, FWII offers popular grocery store items in a convenient location. It accepts cash and SUpercard FOOD.
There are currently 12 cafes conveniently located across campus. Four are associated with dining centers and/or residence halls. The rest are located at the College of Law, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, the Warehouse (located downtown), Huntington Hall, the S.I. New house School of Public Communications, Huntington Beard Crouse (HBC) Hall, the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, and Eggers Hall. A new cafe is also located in the E.S. Bird Library.
Menus include sandwiches, soups, salads, hot and cold beverages, candy, cookies, fast food, and snack food. Hours vary by location. Cash and SUpercard FOOD are accepted to all locations.
The SU I.D. card can be used in campus vending machines. Information on the vending program can be found at http://foodservices.syr.edu.
The Food Court at Kimmel features several national franchises, including Burger Kin, Dunkin' Donuts, Haagen Dazs, KFC, Sbarro, and Taco Bell. It also has Stirrific Mongolian Grill, where you can ejoy made-to-order stir-fry dishes, Taste Buds Deli, which offers soups and sandwiches; and The Marketplace, a great stop for grab-n-go goodies. Cash and SUpercard FOOD are accepted.
Syracuse University Food Services serves kosher meals every day during the academic year through the Kosher Kitchen, which is part of Shaw Dining Center.
Halal lunches and dinners are served at Shaw Dining Center Monday through Friday, lunch and dinner.
Members of the Syracuse University Food Services menu committee have been instrumental in promoting a greater variety of nutritionally balanced vegetarian and vegan options in the dining centers. Vegetarian and vegan meals are available at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and new recipes are always being developed.
