***Please Note: The Move-In Pass System is now open.***
To ensure a smooth arrival and move-in, all new residential students must register for and print a move-in pass.
Thursday, August 27 is the official move-in day, but a limited number of passes are available for Wednesday, August 26.
ESF students move in on Wednesday, August 26, between 9 a.m.–2 p.m. for an opening convocation at 3 p.m.
Be sure to review your individual school or college schedule before selecting a move-in day and time. Many schools and colleges have an opening reception or event scheduled before 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 27. Plan your move-in time to accommodate attending these events. All residential students are required to attend a residence hall floor meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 27.
If you are participating in special programs requiring you to arrive before Wednesday, August 26 (such as pre-orientation programs, athletic teams and the marching band) you do not need to download a move-in pass.
We can only accommodate a portion of residents who wish to move in early on Wednesday, August 26, so a prompt response is essential. On both Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., University personnel and a group of returning student volunteers, affectionately known as the Goon Squad, will assist you as you move into your residence hall.
If you are unable to access the Internet to download a move-in pass or if you have any questions about the move-in process, call the new student hotline at 315-443-1012, or email newtosu@syr.edu.
