New Student Move-In

Early Move-In

If you are participating in a special program requiring you to arrive before Tuesday, August 21 (such as International Student Orientation, a pre-orientation program, athletic team or the marching band), you will not have the assistance of the Goon Squad for your move-in.  You will still need to print and bring your Arrival and Parking Pass with you to move-in during your assigned date and time.

About Assisted New Student Move-In

Move-in days for new students are Tuesday, August 21; Wednesday, August 22; and Thursday, August 23, 2018. There are multiple shifts each day for assisted new student move-in.

  • 9-11:30 a.m. (Wednesday and Thursday only)
  • 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • 2-5 p.m. (Tuesday and Wednesday only)

Please note: All new student residence halls are not available for assisted new student move-in for all shifts.

Arrival and Parking Pass

To ensure a smooth arrival and move-in, all new residential students must print and bring their Arrival and Parking Pass with them to move into their residence hall. When you register for Syracuse Welcome using the Orientation Registration Form, you will submit your preferences for your move-in date and time shift.  The Orientation Registration Form will be available between June 1 and July 15.

Your move-in date and time will be randomly assigned based on your housing assignment and move-in preferences received from the Orientation Registration Form.  Your Arrival and Parking Pass states your move-in date and time and will be automatically created and emailed to your email address on July 20, 2018.  (No Arrival and Parking Passes will be issued before this date.)  There are a limited number of passes for each date and shift.

It is likely you will not receive your first or second preference for move-in.  Due to safety and space limitations, we are required to limit the number of new students that can move in during each move-in shift.  We appreciate your patience knowing that you may not receive your first or second preference for move-in.
