Your chance to Jump-Start Your Syracuse University Experience

 

Fresh FestFreshFest

Cost: $225

Hillel, which serves Jewish students on campus, offers a 36-hour pre-orientation program for incoming students. FreshFest is an amazing opportunity for incoming students to move in early, participate in Tzedek and social activities, and get better acquainted with life at SU... all through a student perspective. The program is lead by a strong group of hand-picked knowledgeable peer facilitators. Students leave FreshFest feeling comfortable with their new surroundings and get a head start on making friends. Step CenterDiscover the Mission

Step off the Hill and into the city of Syracuse. You will begin your tour at The Mission, a four-star Mexican restaurant in the heart of Downtown Syracuse. Students will also have the opportunity to make new friends by working together on a service project in the diverse, redeveloping community of the Near Northside neighborhood. Come see what the city of Syracuse has to offer with activities such as visits to the Everson Museum of Art, IMAX theatre at the Museum of Science and Technology, and the Open Hand Theater and Mask Museum. This 36-hour event offers an in-depth look into life in and around the university.

L.O.O.P.The Leadership Outdoor Orientation Program (L.O.O.P.)

Sponsor: Recreation Services

Cost: $270

Program highlights include: whitewater rafting, a low and high element ropes course, as well as opportunities for hiking canoeing and kayaking in the majestic setting of New York's Adirondack Park. This program is designed to build teamwork, trust, communication, respect, and friendships among participants.
