FreshFest

Hillel at Syracuse University, which strives to create a diverse, dynamic, and welcoming Jewish community on the Syracuse University Campus, is proud to offer FreshFest, a 36-hour pre-orientation program for all incoming students. FreshFest is an amazing opportunity for incoming students to move in early, participate in a Tzedek (social justice) project, and get off campus for fun social activities (including a cruise on Skaneateles Lake).  Incoming students will get better acquainted with life at SU with the help of a strong group of specially selected knowledgeable peer facilitators that run the program.

The Leadership Outdoor Orientation Program (L.O.O.P)

Sponsor:  Recreation Services
Program Dates: 8/23 - 8/26
Cost: $290

Program highlights include:  whitewater rafting, a low and high element ropes course, as well as opportunities for hiking and canoeing or kayaking in the majestic setting of New York's Adirondack Park.  This program is designed to build teamwork, trust, respect, and friendship among participants, as well as helping you make a smooth transition to Syracuse University!

Build Your First Year Experience

Join a local Habitat for Humanity project in the City of Syracuse!  Housing and meals will be provided through SU residence halls at a nominal cost.

Discover the Mission

Step into your college experience with a discovery of the city surrounding the university. The tour will include dinner at The Mission, a four-star Mexican restaurant in the heart of downtown Syracuse. You will have the opportunity to make new friends by working together on a service project in the diverse, redeveloping community of the Near Northside neighborhood.  See what Syracuse has to offer with activities such as visits to the Everson Museum of Art, IMAX theatre at the Museum of Science and Technology, and the Open Hand Theatre and Mask Museum.  This event offers a broad look into life in and around Syracuse University.
