GETTING STARTED

This chapter is dedicated to the things you need to do first. It covers topics like academic requirements and other tasks like the AlcoholEdu for College online program, which you’re required to complete if you’re a first-year student. Read this chapter now to make sure you don’t miss any important deadlines in the checklist and handle all the things your home school or college asks you to do before your arrival.

TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS

Here’s where you’ll find out about the many products and services that are available to you through the Syracuse University Bookstore and other important departments that will help you with things like tuition, financial aid and scholarships and parking. It also covers smart, legal computing on our campus. Read this chapter carefully to save yourself inconvenience later on.

SMART AND SUCCESSFUL LIVING

Check out this helpful chapter to find out about the University’s many useful support offices. You’ll interact with many of these over the course of your SU career, so it’s smart to get to know them now. Smart and Successful Living also contains information on the variety of ways you can get involved on campus and in the Syracuse community. This chapter will help you get a healthy, safe and fun start at SU.

TRANSITIONING TO SU

Transitioning to SU introduces you to your new home away from home - our communities. In this chapter, you’ll learn about what to expect living in our residence halls and get some tips on living with a roommate. You’ll also get familiar with our dining options and find out about the teams of people in place to help you as you settle into your new home.
