Placement Exams

All new SU students are expected to take all applicable placement examinations before registering for classes. Mathematics and Foreign Language placement exams are available online. English Language Assessment Exam

Non-native speakers of English must take the English Language Assessment Exam. Please register for the exam at The exam will be offered for undergraduate students on Friday, January 11 at noon in Kittredge Auditorium, H.B. Crouse Hall. Foreign Languages

Any student interested in taking a language must take a placement exam to register for a course. Placement exams are available on MySlice

To be properly registered, you must take the appropriate placement exam online prior to submitting your course request forms. Please follow the instructions for registering for language classes which can be found in the registration materials for your school or college.  Information about all languages offered may be found at, click on “Languages” and select the appropriate language.


New students who wish to register for a mathematics class must take the placement exam available on MySlice
