U = University Division
All SU and ESF students, faculty, and staff may participate. Where there are differences in rules, men's rules apply.
"A"
and "B" sub-divisions based on ability will be offered in each sport whenever there is sufficient registration in both divisions to support separate competition.
W = Women's Division
All SU and ESF female students, faculty, and staff may participate. Men may petition the Intramural Management Team to play in this division. Where there are differences in rules, women's rules apply.
C = Co-Rec Division
Rules have been modified to ensure a 50 percent gender split and to maximize participation by both men and women. Participants in any of the other divisions may ALSO participate in Co-Rec in the same sport. One team per person.
Intramurals are for the "weekend warrior" as well as skilled athlete. To accommodate this, in all University Division sports, there are separate "A" and "B" competitions, with separate championships awarded in each. It is expected that teams will be realistic about their team's playing ability. Blow-outs are no fun for either team! With that in mind, the Intramural staff retains the right to REASSIGN teams should they obviously be in the wrong league once play has begun. Losses of teams that move from "A" to "B" and wins of teams that are moved from "B" to "A" will be retained in the standings.
