Welcome to the Office of First-Year and Transfer Programs!

We are here to improve the academic and social experiences of all transfer students.  Together with the Syracuse University community, we aim to provide programs and resources that will help ease the transition for transfers to life here at SU!

Transfer Mentor Program

In an effort to assist transfer students in their transition to Syracuse University, First-Year and Transfer Programs has created the Transfer Student Mentor Program.  This program matches successful transfer students with incoming transfer students to help new students adjust to campus life.  Mentors provide support for their students regarding classes, campus resources, and personal concerns.  The program aims to increase the overall academic achievement and satisfaction of transfer students by easing the adjustment and creating leadership opportunities for returning transfer students.  If you are a transfer student who is interested in receiving services from a Transfer mentor, sign up for a mentor by completing the Transfer Mentee Interest Form

For more information or for questions, please contact Jawad Cipriani, Graduate Assistant, First-Year & Transfer Programs at jacipr01@syr.edu or 315-443-1012.

Transfer Newsletter

The Transfer Newsletter will be published monthly and sent out to all new transfer students via the listserv.  Each issue will highlight an important office at SU and spotlight a current transfer student.

If there is a topic or office you would like to see in the newsletter or if you want to contribute to it, please email us at newtosu@syr.edu.

Transfer Credit Resources

If you have questions regarding the transfer of credits, contact your college advising office.
